I&#039;ve also found with a little test and measure that with a couple of obstacles (not big ones) in the opt-in process, that I often won&#039;t get more subscribers but I will get a better quality list of subscribers. Meaning higher click through rates, and better ROI. 

Guess it depends on the purpose of your subscribers too though, whether they are there for a sale or just purely to drive traffic regularly to your site.
