How to Get the Most Out of Something Free…

How do you get the most out of something free? I’m specifically talking about internet marketing products/programs that are free to join. Just because something is free to join, doesn’t always mean it’s not worthy or just a waste. You just need to know what to do with it!

For example, here’s how you can get the most out of a program called Free Monthly Websites, a program I highly recommend.

If you have a weight loss ebook, edit it with a small paragraph saying something like “there are 100’s ways to lose weight which can be found in various forms from books to television to fitness programs bla bla bla” and then insert your new free monthy website link (related to weight loss). Now imagine doing this with all your eBooks! Think about having 50 of your plr ebooks doing the rounds on eBay or your blog… your AdSense revenue is going to creep up and up until you are earning a very respectable income. It’s a simple case of wash, rinse, repeat.

Option number 2 is even easier. I know most of you will at some point, or already do write articles and submit them to relevant article directories. Well why not try writing an article about one of the subjects related to Free Monthly Websites? Place the site link in your resource box and there you have it. Just submit to article directories such as: Articledashboard.com, Ezinearticles.com. Goarticles.com, etc… There are many.

And another income stream will start.

The third option is a little different. Once you are a member of Free Monthly Websites, you can use your own affiliate link to promote the program and you’ll have the potential to earn money per referral. You can place your link in the websites provided for you and in the ebooks you sell or the articles you write. Generating more income for you.

So with your website live and your ebooks and articles circulating, you will be well on your way to earning a nice income from a free resource.

Affiliate Marketing Solutions

One of the easiest and fastest way to make money online in through affiliate marketing. This is when you send visitors to someone else’s product sales page, they make the sale and deliver the product, and you get a percentage of the sale price as you commission (usually 50% or more for digital products).

The benefits of this are

You can get started almost immediately because you don’t have to create a product, write the sales page, design the website, develop marketing materials, or set up the ordering, billing & delivery system.
You have almost no investment of time because you don’t have to do the customer support or deal with billing or technical issues.
You have nearly zero risk because you already know the product sells. So if you send visitors you will get paid.

Looking at these benefits, it’s clear that affiliate marketing is the way to go!

The downside is…

After all your hard work of generating traffic to the sales page, you will never see any of those visitors again. Most of them will not buy on their first visit, which means you’re losing over 90% of the traffic right off the top. And of the 10% or less that do buy, the product owner will be able to sell to them again, but you will not.

What’s the solution?

Simply put, you need to capture the name and email of your visitors *before* sending them to the product sales page. This way you can follow up with them and keep sending them back to the sales page to increase your chances of making the sale. And if you’re really on top of your game, you’ll then send to a pre-sales page in between.

Here’s what these affiliate marketing strategies will do for you:

You’ll be building your own list of potential customers that you can market to again and again.
You’ll be pre-selling them by providing valuable information and then casually linking to the product sales page in the context of this information.

In order to set a system like this up, you will need the following affiliate marketing tools:

A Video Squeeze Page (with video)
One or more content-rich Pre-Selling Pages
At least a 5-Part Email Followup Series

The video squeeze page is where you’ll direct your traffic instead of directly to the product sales page. It captures the name and email of your visitors and puts them into your autoresponder, which then begins sending out the 5-part email series. Then it redirects them to your pre-selling pages after they subscribe to your email series.

All of this together increases your chances of making the sale by up to 500% so it’s well worth the effort of setting it up. And once it’s set up, it runs automatically – you just keep sending visitors to the squeeze page.

If you don’t have the time or expertise to set it all up yourself, you can use something like Affiliate Silver Bullet. Services like this design the enter system (the video, the video squeeze page, the email series, the content pages, etc). The benefit is that it’s much less expensive then you could do it yourself, and it’s instantly set up. The downside is that other people will be using the same affiliate tools as you. But the internet is pretty big, so this isn’t much of a concern.

The other route you can take is to hire people on Elance to create and implement the various aspects for you. Either way, it’s an important step that you need to take if you’re going to be serious about your business.

Do You Need Your Own Product?

Do you need to have your own product to “make it” in the world of internet marketing and online business? This is one of the age old questions among internet marketers and has been asked and answered many many times since internet marketing’s inception. I have heard so many different opinions on this. There are those that say you absolutely need to have your own product to succeed in internet marketing and there are those that say no way, it’s not necessary at all. So who’s right, who’s wrong?

I really think that everybody is right. What?! Yes, having your own product is wonderful but certainly not necessary. You can take your product, build a site around the product, create an affiliate program and have others sell it for you, etc… and that works. However, if you don’t have your own product, you can certainly become successful as an affiliate marketer, selling other people’s products. I know internet marketers that have become hugely successful by creating and selling their own product, but on the other hand, I also know some extremely successful affiliate marketers and that’s all they do.

I think a better point is what do a successful internet marketer with his/her own product and an successful affiliate marketer have in common? Motivation and Passion! It takes motivation, passion, drive and ambition to succeed at any endeavor you choose and internet marketing is no different. You need to have passion and love for what you are doing to keep you drive and ambition alive!

Whether you are marketing your own product or someone else’s as an affiliate marketer, your success is definitely related to how passionate you are, how focused you are, how much you believe in the product and how effective your marketing techniques are.

Here are the top 5 mistakes almost all Adsense publishers make and how you can avoid them:

Mistake #1 – Not playing by the rules

The first major no-no some Adsense publishers unfortunately make is NOT following the guidelines set forth by Google… You can read their “Adsense Policies” right here.

The most important thing here is not to create “artificial clicks” through any means possible. NEVER – I repeat – NEVER click your own links, never ask your friends or relatives to click the links and never, by any means, encourage your visitors to click the links.

Failing to comply with Google’s terms could result in your Adsense account being suspended, or worse, being permanently BANNED! So play by the rules, and you’ll have longer lasting Adsense profits.

Mistake #2 – Improper placement of ads

When it comes to the “placement” of your ads, there is no ‘universal position’ that is guaranteed to increase your Adsense earnings. However, there are certain places that generally are more profitable than others…

For instance, placing ads to the ‘left’ side of your page is logical, because text is generally read from left to right.

This seems to work better because people will finish a sentence and return their eyes to the left position, which means there’s a better chance they’ll spot your ads.

You will also find that you’ll generate more clicks by placing ads at the ‘bottom’ of your content, because as your visitors finish reading your article, there’s a brief moment where they’re looking for something more to do – and your Adsense ads can offer them that something!

Mistake #3 – Choosing bad color palettes

If you want the biggest revenue impact for your ads, then I recommend optimizing your “color palettes”.

A lot of webmasters don’t take the time to do this, but they should. Choosing the right palettes can mean the difference between ads your visitors will notice — and click — and ads they’ll skip right over.

Mistake #4 – Not testing what works and making changes as necessary to improve results

As an Adsense publisher, you should be able to answer these two vital questions:

- Where is Adsense earning me the most revenue?

- How can I use this information to earn even more?

By using Adsense “channels”, Google provides you with a precise method of identifying the best ‘ad placement’, ‘color palettes’, and ‘ad formats’ for your sites, so you can make changes as necessary in order to realize your maximum earning potential.

Think about it…

…And the only way to cater to both, and make SERIOUS money at the same time, is by building quality sites with quality content – not just slapping up a bunch of junk hoping to get a few nibbles.

As a business owner you know it’s important to spend a good chunk of your time planning and growing your business. Much of that time is also spent collecting and reviewing information from various industry experts.

In fact, each particular aspect of internet marketing and entrepreneurship has experts whom we turn to for advice.
